In March of 2023, my world stopped when I heard those three terrifying words: "You have cancer."
I went through a double mastectomy followed by full reconstruction. During the long, often painful process of healing, my dog, Piper, became my quiet source of strength. Watching her play, or just having her sit silently by my side, brought a comfort that helped me navigate the difficult physical and emotional road.
Hearing those words changes you, and I changed HARD. I immediately went all in on clean living, starting with my diet. I stripped out all processed foods, but that’s where I hit a serious roadblock: I couldn't find a single pickle that was crunchy, tasted amazing, AND had truly clean ingredients.
My frustration quickly turned into a mission! I put on my apron and started experimenting. After months of testing, brining, and perfecting, Piper’s Pure Pickles was born. I chose the name to honor Piper, who helped heal my spirit, and because I truly believe that pure, clean food has the power to heal the body.
The raving reviews started pouring in—from my family, friends, and neighbors—and I knew I had something special. I sprung into action, securing a commercial kitchen and launching the business.
Today, one of the best parts of this incredible journey is having my daughter, Ashlynn, by my side as my business partner. I hate the term 'step-daughter'—she is my daughter, and there is absolutely no one else I would rather be building this dream with.
